2011 Air Shows & Events

 

  • July 3, 2011 9-1-1 Veterans 3rd Annual PFC Joseph Dwyer Hero Rally & Motorcycle Run
    YN-19 will be landing for static display at the Brookhaven Bald Hill Amphitheater. 55 South Bicycle Path Farmingdale, NY 11738
  • July 6, 2011 A Sag Harbor Salute YN-19 will do a fly-by to honor the 10 Wounded Veterans and their families aboard the Shelter Island South Ferry. This will take place over the water near Shelter Island approximately 5:45 to 6 PM.
  • July 23, 2011   2011 Soldiers Ride in support of our Wounded Veterans YN-19 will fly at the start of the ride and will also hover next to or over the LCpl Jordan Haerter Memorial Bridge for a memorial service.

 




2010 Air Shows & Events

  • Nov. 6 ISLANDIA VETERANS MEMORIAL TRIANGLE EVENT
    Our Vietnam era helicopter will be doing a flyover to open the event and will also be on display in the parking lot at the Village Of Islandia Village Hall. Please stop by and say hello to our dedicated volunteers who help keep our  helicopter YN-19 flying. (Weather permitting)
     
      

  • Oct. 9 SIKORSKY FAMILY DAY
    We will be flying in for static display during Family Day at the Sikorsky Aircraft. Special thanks to Sikorsky Aircraft for inviting us to Family Day.
     

  • Sept. 18 CLOVIS POINT VINEYARDS HELICOPTER VIEWING
    Our helicopter will be at Clovis Point Vineyards located on the North Fork in the town of Jamesport Long Island. Please come and see our fully restored Vietnam helicopter and talk with the dedicated volunteers who help keep her flying. This helicopter flew in Vietnam from 1963-69 and now serves as a traveling memorial to honor our veterans. For hours please call Clovis Point Vineyards at 631-722-4222.

  • Aug. 21-22 WESTFIELD INTERNATIONAL AIR SHOW
    Our Sikorsky UH-34D will be arriving before noon on Friday Aug 20. We will be performing a medevac demo on Saturday and Sunday. Please stop by and see us.

  • May 14-16 ANDREWS AIR FORCE AIR SHOW
     we will be on static display for all of our friend and veterans to come and see us. Our traveling memorial is there for you to see and touch. She saved the lives of many in Vietnam.

  • May 15 ARMED FORCES DAY  (subject to cancellation)
    We will be attending this event at the Suffolk County H. Lee Dennision building parking lot 100 Veterans Highway Hauppauge NY. This event will be 11 AM to 1 PM. Our UH-34 helicopter will be landing in the parking lot at 7:30 AM. We will be on display for viewing in honor of our veterans. Please come and visit this piece of Vietnam History and say hello to the men and women who helped restored this beautiful aircraft.

  •  May 21-23 WELCOME HOME WISCONSIN'S VIETNAM VETERANS
    In May of 2010 Vietnam Veterans and their families are invited to a special Welcome Home celebration at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. YN-19 will be attending this important event. On May 20 we will fly to Grissom Field in Indiana and stay overnight. We will depart on May 21 with 2 Huey's from American Huey 369 and fly to Green Bay. Please come and visit this piece of Vietnam History and say hello to the people who helped restored this beautiful aircraft.

  • May 29-31 WINGS & WHEELS CORSAIRS OVER CONNECTICUT
    Celebrate the F4U Corsair’s 70th Anniversary – Connecticut’s Official State Aircraft Honor Veterans from The Greatest Generation through the Afghanistan & Iraqi Conflicts Support Discovery Museum’s Mission of Educating Youth throughout Fairfield County, and Bridgeport in particular. Location is at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford, CT.


2009 Events

  • 16 May 2009 ARMED FORCES DAY
    We will be attending this event at the Suffolk County H. Lee Dennision building parking lot 100 Veterans Highway Hauppauge NY. This event will be 11 AM to 1 PM. Our UH-34 helicopter will be landing in the parking lot at 7:30 AM. We will be on display for viewing in honor of our veterans.   • 20 May 2009 WARRIOR DAY  (Special Thanks to Sikorsky Aircraft for supporting us with this event.) We depart Jamesport NY and fly to the Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina for WARRIOR DAY celebrating the 97th Anniversary of Marine Corps Aviation. We will depart NC on either 22 or 23 May for our journey home. If you live in the local area and wish to see YN-19 or attend the ceremony on 22 May please contact MCAS New River for information needed to  attend.
    I will post a phone number when it becomes available.

THESE ARE TENTATIVE DATES & TIMES SUBJECT TO CHANGE

  • 23-25 May 2009 FLEET WEEK AND AIR POWER MUSEUM MEMORIAL WEEKEND
    We will be on display for viewing in honor of our veterans Saturday, Sunday  Monday at the
    American Airpower Museum. Please come and visit a piece of Vietnam History and say hello to the men and women who helped restored this beautiful aircraft. If possible we will give a short flight demo at the museum. We will leave the Air Power Museum for a short period of time to fly in Fleet Week with the Marine Corps helicopters. We will participate in several Raids in NYC and Long Island. Listed below are the tentative dates and times.
  • 23-25 May 2009 FLEET WEEK RAIDS
    23 May Sat. Time 10-12 Noon FULL RAID Eisenhower Park, Nassau County, Long Island NY

    24  May Sun. Time 3-5 PM FULL RAID Playland Amusement Park, Rye NY (Westchester County)
  • THIS IS A TENTATIVE DATE & TIME SUBJECT TO CHANGE

    14 June FLAG DAY VETERANS FUND RAISING EVENT
    This special event will include a motorcycle run to Montauk Point NY to raise funds for deserving organizations. More info to be posted soon.
